Renold Couplings have been awarded the ISO 14001:2015 accreditation
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve achieved certification to ISO 14001:2015 standards.
A recognition of the need to become more environmentally conscious and of the desire of an increasing number of suppliers who want to deal with companies who can prove their commitment to the environment, prompted Renold Couplings to work towards the world recognised accreditation.
Part of a family of 16 international ISO 14000 standards, designed to assist companies in reducing their impact on the environment, ISO 14001 is the international standard for Environmental Management Systems and is the most widely used EMS in the world. First published in 1996, it applies to those environmental aspects over which an organisation has control and where it can be expected to have an influence. ISO 14001 centres around the process of how a product is produced, rather than on the product itself and aims to help organisations minimise how their operations negatively affect the environment and comply with legislation whilst, at the same time, continually improving.
It took Renold Couplings 4 months of concerted effort to achieve the accreditation, with one person assigned to ensuring the standard was achieved. The process started with a review of all business activities which affect the environment and all relevant legislation and culminated in the development of written procedures and objectives for continual improvement.
Kim Jenkins, QHSE Manager at Renold Couplings has said ‘This latest accreditation to ISO 14001:2015 demonstrates our commitment to the protection and enhancement of the environment and the prevention of pollution, to ensure we maintain the highest level of products & services in a safe manner with the minimum environmental impact.’
