Renold Clutches & Couplings is the first powertransmission supplier to respond to a request from Brammer to have all new deliveries to its UK distribution depots bar-coded. Brammer's target is to have 50 percent of all deliveries bar-coded by mid 2007 in what the big engineering distributor has named its Woodlands & Silver project. The bar-codes will include the purchase order number, supplier advice number, the Brammer part number and quantity. Renold Clutches & Couplings' Graham Johns was put in charge of the project and, after a period of initial testing, was able to put the new bar-coding system into operation at the end of March 2007, making the company the first in the power transmission sector to meet Brammer's requirements.
