Renold Couplings invests in Cardiff future

Renold Couplings have announced significant investment in the future of its Cardiff manufacturing facility.

The investment centres on the installation of new machines, to increase production and reduce lead times of couplings manufactured at the site. Two of the machines are now fully operational, with a further two to follow later in 2016.

Manufacturing Engineer, Tim Phillips, commented “With the DMG Mori-Seiki NCX2500 and NTX2000 replacing legacy equipment, it will allow us to produce components that are fully machined and de-burred with no additional operations required. This is a vast improvement on the previous set up and will not only streamline the production process, but also ensure that the parts are also manufactured more accurately and to a higher quality.”

Alongside the upgraded machinery, new positions have been created in key areas of the business and a new IT system is being implemented, in order to improve Renold Couplings all round service offering.

Renold Couplings manufacture industrial components, ranging from fluid couplings to sprag clutches, designed and manufactured to high standards from its facility in Cardiff. International companies in industries from steel to food processing, to transportation to textiles, have chosen Renold to solve their problems. Renold Couplings is long established in Cardiff and in 2016 is celebrating its 70th year of manufacturing in the city.
