Renold Couplings to showcase marine solutions at SMM
Renold Couplings will be exhibiting at SMM, the world’s leading trade fair for the maritime industry.
From 4th – 7th September 2018, Renold Couplings will showcase its Hi-Tec marine coupling solutions at SMM, Hamburg. Renold prides itself in its mechanical power transmission expertise and has been providing solutions to the maritime industry for over 50 years. The inherent failsafe nature of their rubber-in-compression technology makes Renold Couplings ideal for applications where failure is not an option.
Renold has a comprehensive range of couplings, suitable for main propulsion drive, misalignment or on-board power generation. Their solutions are used on every size of vessel from small workboats in the Crayfish industry to large dredgers and liners operating all over the world. In all cases, Renold product was chosen because it was able to deliver the technical characteristics required from a flexible coupling as well as being both robust and dependable.
Throughout the exhibition, Renold will be showcasing it’s HTB and VF coupling ranges, which have been specifically designed for marine applications. The HTB range is currently available for engine flywheels from SAE 11.5 to 21 and caters for torques up to 120kN.m. The HTB is manufactured to accommodate blind assembly and therefore allows easy assembly for applications in bell housing. The highly flexible VF coupling can dampen torsional vibrations, tune the torsional response of the system and absorb the unavoidable misalignments between the engine and the gear. The VF is specifically suited for high speed diesel engines with SAE flywheels from 14 to 21 and has a maximum torque capacity of 81kN.m.
