Sprocket and wheel manufacturing turns full circle in return to Cardiff

Renold has returned all sprocket and wheel manufacturing to its factory in Cardiff after an absence of over twenty years, demonstrating its confidence and long-term commitment to the factory and its workforce. Renold's Cardiff factory was initially opened in 1946 as a dedicated sprocket manufacturing facility and moved to a modern purpose built factory in 1991. By this time sprocket manufacturing had been transferred to other facilities allowing what had now become Renold Clutches and Couplings to concentrate on its core product range.

Wheels and Sprockets up to 1.3 metres in size will now be manufactured by Renold Clutches and Couplings strengthening the manufacturing capabilities of the Cardiff facility. Martin Slade, Renold Clutches and Couplings sales director said: "We're delighted that sprocket and wheel manufacturing has been returned to Cardiff as the factory here was originally constructed for that very purpose. It is also recognition of the excellent and dedicated workforce we have here who put everything into the quality of our products whilst maintaining high levels of productivity and customer care."

A new catalogue is available from Renold with detailed technical information including illustrations, tables and photographs of the company's range of sprockets and wheels that is available either in printed form or as a downloadable PDF from Renold.com. The brochure also traces the company's history of manufacturing in Cardiff.
