Renold has once again shown that its products are the right choice, this time in Australia and the customer was Melbourne’s underground public transport network.
Having tested one of its escalators with Renold step chain and seen the improvements in reliability and uptime a contract has recently been signed for a further 11 escalators. This will replace chain from another manufacturer and will be a design based on the Renolube low maintenance design.
Renolube chain has a composite polymer bush that delivers maximum working life. Stable and predicatble wear rates are a feature of the Renolube design when compared to conventionally greased chains that are prone to random failure. The escalator chain range caters for both light duty applications such as those in department stores and also the heavier duty public transport installations.
